Welcome
The Arc of Washington State's mission is to
advocate for the rights and full participation of all people with
developmental disabilities. Along with our network of members
and chapters, we support and empower individuals and families;
connect and inform individuals and families; improve support and
service systems; influence public policy; increase public awareness;
and inspire inclusive communities.
Since 1936 The Arc of Washington State has been a leader
in the development of services and programs for people with
developmental disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, mental
retardation, epilepsy and related neurological disorders which occur
before age 18.
The Arc of Washington State, a non-profit organization,
is affiliated with The Arc of the United States and eleven
local Arc
chapters throughout the state.
Projects of The Arc of Washington State
The
State
Parent to Parent (P2P) Program provides a variety of
resources for families of children with special needs.
State advocacy grants funded by the
Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council provide information, education and technical assistance to parent
and self advocacy groups interested in shaping public policies that
affect their lives.

(SAIL) who will be honored with the Advocacy Matters! Award at the
Arc of the United States National Convention on November 13th, 2009
at 3:45pm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The
Life Opportunities Trust, formerly called the DD Endowment, is a
public-private partnership that makes it possible for families to
enhance the quality of life for their loved ones with a
developmental disability, and for individuals with developmental
disabilities to participate in their own financial future.
